Emerson Day of Play

After the success of 2024’s Emerson Day of Play, FableVision partnered with Emerson College once again to plan and facilitate the event for September 27, 2025! The event features a full day of original outdoor pop-up games at Emerson’s UnCommon Stage in downtown Boston. Students, tourists, and passersby stop by the space to play four new student-designed games, “Deli Demolition,” “Aiming for Emerson,” “Chess 2,” and “Ignited Emersonians.” The student-designed “Troll Hunt” returned in 2025, along with FableVision-designed “Moving Day.” Each game is suitable for people of all ages to play, and each station has a game manager helping players learn the rules. 

To create the games, FableVision collaborated with Emerson Professor Sarah Zaidan’s “Intro to Game Design” class to deliver a fast-paced public game design curriculum. Students developed Game Design Documents, which the FableVision production team then used to build the final physical games.
