“The Effects of Fracking: An Organizing Tool” Animated Film
Client: Mothers Out Front
“We are mothers, grandmothers, and other caregivers coming together to make climate change an issue that our leaders can no longer ignore.” To educate people on the effects of fracking and spread the word about their mission, grassroots climate change advocacy group Mothers Out Front collaborated with FableVision to create a two-minute video to educate, raise awareness, and motivate viewers to join their movement.
The video—which serves as a recruitment tool for Mothers Out Front’s social media channels and website, and as an informational video to present at the end of presentations to their communities or local government—aims to appeal to mothers by highlighting their experiences. Narrated by a mother in her home, she digs deeper into the fracking industry and the resulting health effects on her children, as well as the experiences of other mothers and families along the pipeline. As her knowledge grows, she becomes more determined to fight against climate change and hold government officials accountable. At the end of the video, the screen invites viewers to “join us” and directs viewers to the Mothers Out Front website, where they can learn more and join the movement.
