Echo Explorers
Client: WNET, Bridge Multimedia

Major Hack-Attack alert: the bats are missing, and Digit’s cousin Brigit needs the CyberSquad’s help to rescue them so her cactus apples grow again! In partnership with WNET and Bridge Multimedia, FableVision created Echo Explorers. The born-accessible game acts as a companion to the “Missing Bats in Sensible Flats” episode of the beloved, award-winning PBS KIDS show Cyberchase. To free the bats that Hacker trapped, players must enter a series of dark caves and use echolocation, as well as their skills in mapping and coordinates, to locate machine parts hidden on a grid. Once they locate all the machine parts, players can progress through the game levels and navigate out of the cave.
Echo Explorers’ structure is flexible to any child’s sensitivities in their physical and cognitive ability through built-in accessibility panels and accessible art and design. Players have control over sound, captions, background visuals, difficulty, modes of game-control, and more. Accessibility is also incorporated into the art and visuals of the game, incorporating high-contrast and color-blind friendly colors in the visual design and choosing easily-readable text sizes and fonts. The game is mobile and web-friendly to be used on phones, tablets, and desktops.
