February Ends with Two Creative Industry Events

FableVision Studios was hopping in February! We invited two amazing organizations over to host two events, one with the Children's Media Association (CMA), and one with the MIT Game Circle. The CMA, whose mission is to educate, innovate and inspire members of the children's media community, launched its Boston branch on Feb. 20, with the inaugural event, Imagination Illustrated, a panel discussion about picture book illustrators and authors. The panel was moderated by CloudKid's Dave Schlafman, and featured Julia Denos, Jarrett Krosoczka, Jef Czekaj, and FableVision's own Renee Kurilla! This collection of local book talent chatted about the personal, the professional, and even a bit of the nonsensical.

During an evening that served as part reality-check and industry check-up, the MIT Game Circle presented Cash Chow and Corpses: The Deadly Fun Business of Educational Gaming on Feb. 27, moderated by FableVision's CEO Paul Reynolds. Also on the panel were Kellian Adams of Green Door Labs, Jerry Bird of Mass Ventures, Scot Osterweil of the MIT Education Arcade, and George Newman of One Planet Education Network.

With the goal of fleshing out the success blueprint, the panelists provided framework of the challenges, opportunities, and strategies for growth, along with a couple cautionary tales.

You can see more photos from these two events on our Facebook page, check 'em out! Big thanks to everyone who came out and visited!
