Creative Juices Summer Open House Art Show 2013

photo-3-e1371144802544.jpg

FableVisionaries weren’t going to let some bad weather rain on their parade (literally) during the 4th annual Creative Juices Open House Art Show last Friday! Art lovers from in and around the city arrived at FableVision Studios dressed in complete rain garb to celebrate one of the best community events of the summer (in our opinion). With sketches, photographs, and poetry lining the walls, guests at the Creative Juices Open House Art Show were able to get a taste of our staff’s outstanding artistic abilities as well as a couple of creatively mixed juices along the way! Here's a taste of the variety of talent showed at this year's event:

Visitors at Friday’s event didn’t have to look to the walls for samples of FableVision’s creativity. In the corner of the room, a 3D printer set up by our company President Gary Goldberger quietly chugged away, turning a 2D computer image into a plastic figure in a matter of hours.

Hidden away in the company green room was this cartoon gem created by Director of Art and Animation, Bob Flynn! This life-sized drawing captured the attention of many passing guests. Can you spot any familiar characters?

Production Assistant Jordan Persson took FableVision Studios' little blue television and put a looping video on it perched atop our popcorn machine stuffed to the brim with candies.

Naomi Greenfield was at it again! Our Creative Strategist’s balloon talents made waves at last year’s Open House so this year, she decided to reprise her role. With Tami Wicinas as her model, Naomi pulled out her bag of tricks and crafted a dress fit for a queen!

While the adults were busy mingling with exhibitioners, the kids had the chance to hang out with some creatures their own size… puppets! These furry characters visited courtesy of Puppet Showplace Theatre, and were a hit with some of the younger visitors, along with this tablet-controlled video game that we blew up on the big screen, created by Creative IT & QA Specialist, John Groh.

Big, BIG thanks to everyone who braved the harsh weather conditions to visit our Studio and say hello. Join us next time!

Lucky '13 Open House

We recently had our annual Open House and it was undoubtedly one of our best. With the number 13 having an openly unlucky reputation we thought, “Why not do a twist on that? Why not give 13 a new life for a new year?”

We had custom-colored FableVision Lucky Pennies and Lucky Fable Fortune Cookies. We also had a FablePhoto Booth where guests could stop in, have their soul portraits taken, and pose with background stills by FableVisionaries.

Our lucky-themed Open House featured a fortune teller (who was totally awesome and eerily on-target for those of us who had a reading). We had a ton of people come, and so many fresh faces that we were nearly dizzy by the time everyone left. Of course we always want old FableFriends to come to these shindigs, but seeing new faces with new talents and newly-acquired curiosity about what we do here at FableVision Studios is really what it’s all about.

Metallic stars shimmered in our windows overlooking the harbor and candles glimmered on hi-top tables. There were sliders. So many delicious sliders. And our signature cocktail, as always, did not fail to amaze (how can you not be amazed by edible gold stars?). Thank you, again, to everyone who came out. We had a great time. Make '13 Your Luckiest Year Yet!

Creative Juices 2012: Freshly Squeezed!

Our third annual Creative Juices art show was last week, and it was our best yet! Creative Juices Head

Creative Juices is all about showcasing the many talents of the FableVision staff, and our creative pursuits outside of the studio. Some of the artwork on display this year included sock monsters, pottery, draw-your-own monster, felt critters, floral arrangements, illustrations, photography, comics, artful beverages, video games, animation, and even a dress made of balloons! Thanks to all of you who came to the show, and special thanks to SCBWI for collaborating with us.
