GASHA GO! World

Client: Georgia Public Broadcasting (GPB)

“Use your smarts, lead with your heart, just like the Gashlings do!” Meet the Gashlings – the small creatures that come alive at night to work inside of the magical world of arcade machines. In the latest iteration of GASHA GO! World, an original property developed by Georgia Public Broadcasting (GPB) with FableVision Studios and Georgia DOE, dive deeper into the working world of the Gashlings as they welcome players behind the scenes of the arcade to the GASHA GO! Headquarters. After creating the first set of GASHA GO! World games and animations – Bubble Build and Claw Control – FableVision and GPB collaborated for a first-of-its-kind multimedia suite of games, animated shorts, and offline activities focused on computer science for K-2 students.

In expanding the breadth of GASHA GO! World, GPB wanted to implement a curriculum that focused on strengthening skills in creative communication, digital citizenship, innovative design, and computational thinking. These skills are utilized through gameplay and are the direct focus of the animations.

Players enter the world through the familiar GASHA GO! arcade and watch an introductory animation that transports them to GASHA GO! HQ. There, they create their visitor badge and enter the lobby – then it’s time to play!

GPB provided curriculum and content guidance in accordance with Georgia education standards, along with significant user testing. In line with their universal design goals, GASHA GO! World was designed with accessibility in mind. The game features high color contrast and keyboard controls, with plans to release a Spanish-language version.

GASHA GO! World is available a web app and a mobile app for phones and tablets — download today on iOS or Google Play. Supplementary materials, including activity books, sticker sheets, and flashcards, will also be available.
