GASHA GO! World: Claw Control

Client: Georgia Public Broadcasting (GPB)

“Galloping guinea pigs!” Created for Georgia Public Broadcasting in its goal to provide a computer science curriculum for underrepresented students,GASHA GO! World excites children with its playful, adorable, and entertaining Gashlings. These tiny, imaginative creatures come alive at night to build toys inside of the magical world of arcade games. After FableVision produced Bubble Build, the first game in this universe that teaches number sense, it expanded the property with the game Claw Control and a 90-second animated musical short that introduces the game.

Claw Control branches out into the STEM world of decomposition—breaking down problems into smaller parts to solve the larger problem as a whole. The game has six levels and helps kindergarten-second graders practice resiliency, persistence, and grit, as they help the Gashlings organize their tasks to efficiently create arcade toys. Once they break down the tasks, they watch the Gashlings build the toy, and then use the claw to pull the toy out of the machine. Unlike other kindergarten games, Claw Control doesn’t seek the perfect answer, but the best possible solution in each scenario. The game and video will be available in Georgia’s education settings, family toolkits, and GPB’s site for free.
