Thinking Money for Kids (TM4K) Program Kits
Client: American Library Association, FINRA Investor Education Foundation

Beginning in 2024, over 300 public libraries across the United States will receive the Thinking Money for Kids program kits, available in both English and Spanish, for in-library use and at-home play. Expanding on previous exhibit work and digital games, FableVision partnered with the American Library Association and FINRA to develop five new physical and digital Thinking Money for Kids (TM4K) financial literacy games.
The five games—Penny Pinchers’ Party, Piggy Bank Puppet Theater, Pet Cents, Currency Conga/Currency Catcher, and Making Mooo-Lah—teach children, along with their caregivers and educators, about essential financial concepts such as saving, spending, sharing, and budgeting. Through friendly competition, engaging gameplay, and meaningful fun, these games make financial literacy accessible and enjoyable. The kits include a Playaway tablet, which features modified digital versions of all five games for solo play, and physical components ranging from board games, puppet theaters, and strategy cards.
The digital interactives are built in Unity WebGL and are mobile, tablet-friendly, and webpage responsive. The digital component of the program kits contain Playaway tablets with Thinking Money for Kids games and interactives available for solo play. The applications on the Playaway tablets were built using Vue and React.
