The Paper Girls

Client: Global Tinker

If you can dream it, you can make it! Global Tinker and FableVision Studios created a new animated series that draws inspiration from STEAM education and the Maker Movement. The Paper Girls aims to empower girls to play, imagine, make, and learn through the exploration of the arts, science, computer programming, and engineering. The short-form series follows the adventures of Caily and Reese, two best friends and makers. Together they discover a secret portal to Confetti, a fantastic world crafted entirely from paper. Confetti allows the girls’ curiosity and creativity to run wild, with mind-blowing (and sometimes hilarious) results.

Each episode incorporates a different type of technology or STEAM maker activity, from 3D printing to paper circuitry. FableVision helped write scripts, storyboard the episodes, create original characters, and provide creative direction for the development of the show. Associated instructional videos and Electronic Origami Kits are available for purchase on The Paper Girls’ site. Global Tinker and FableVision Studios are currently developing more episodes for the show’s worldwide debut and plan to translate the content for a rollout in the global market.
