Faster downloads, low latency, the future of machines and technology: these are just some of the revolutionary ways 5G will change our world in the near future. While the vast majority of smartphones have already embraced 4G technology, many people are not aware of the capabilities of 5G, which is already in use in many spaces and will continue to impact our culture and connectivity. To educate middle schoolers on the history and impact of 5G technology in time for their Games/Design Jam, nonprofit Games For Change (G4C) turned to FableVision to create a 90-second explainer video detailing how 5G has and can be used.

Simple and straightforward, the video details the history that led to the need for 5G before illuminating the barriers it will break open in the future. The FableVision team made this abstract concept relatable by showing animated clips of people doing once-futuristic things with this new technology—like avoiding accidents in a self-driving car—to engage tweens and teens on a deeper level. 5G internet will provide the power for devices to communicate better, allowing budding developers to design with the future of technology in mind—a future they will be at the forefront of.
