Digital Citizenship K-2 Music Videos
Client: Common Sense Education

“We the digital citizens, with our hands up in the air, pledge to travel safely when we click from here to there!” New music videos produced by FableVision Studios accompany Common Sense Education’s recently released and revamped Digital Citizenship curriculum. The three music videos pair with the lessons focusing on themes of digital safety, media balance and more. Each video serves as a fun introduction to every section of the K-2 curriculum.
To capture the visual style, FableVision artists were given established characters, known as Common Sense’s ‘Digital Citizens,’ and adapted them for animation while adding additional backgrounds that expand the world they inhabit. Each colorful citizen is based on a body part, and they all represent a central principle found in the curriculum (the Heart, for example, encourages kids to be kind). The characters are colorful, vibrant, and silly, making them memorable carriers of the messaging in the lessons.
FableVision took existing curricular concepts and key words based on Common Sense’s curriculum and wrote catchy original songs to anchor the concepts. Each song is also available in Spanish. Taking inspiration from country, pop, hip hop, and Latin genres of music, the songs are a high-energy starting point for each of the lessons.
