October is a big month for FableVision. We have our special edition Stories that Move Open House that is an informal kick-off for the 5th Annual Boston Book Festival on Friday, Oct. 18. Are you coming? You can get on the guest list by RSVPing here. On top of our workshop with United Way, you can visit FableVision, the National Writing Project, and Reading is Fundamental in booth 65 in Copley Square at the Boston Book Festival on Saturday, Oct. 19.
You may remember it from previous years. This year, the Massachusetts Independent Comics Expo (MICE) spanned two days (the last weekend of September), and Sunday was billed as Kids Comics Day. FableVisionaries headed over to neighboring Cambridge to celebrate and exhibit.
Join Erin Sunderland of United Way and Paul and Peter H. Reynolds of FableVision to learn how your organization, school, or nonprofit can use the power of storytelling to further and accelerate its mission by reaching people in a more emotionally engaging and compelling way. First, hear the story of the creative partnership between United Way and FableBsiion and how storytelling helped United Way reach new audiences. Then, using a simple storyboarding technique, roll up your sleeves to develop a story that conveys why your organization matters. Educators will learn how to employ this technique in classrooms to help students create their own stories that move the world to a better place.
It's that time again, another new season means a new issue for our Ranger Rick’s Tree House app with the National Wildlife Federation! The issue went live over the weekend, which is always a great way to start a week. We've had some great news recently: Ranger Rick's Tree House is a Silver Winner in the 2013 National Parenting Publications Awards (NAPPA) Children’s Products competition's Virtual Category. We were also recently featured in the Association of American Publishers' blog for our work with the National Wildlife Federation! You can read the post here.
Before Dot Day celebrations swept the world yesterday (and the weeks leading up to it!), FableVision founder Peter H. Reynolds stopped by NECN to chat about The Dot's 10th birthday.
