Knowledge Adventure

Books by You is a Mac/Windows CD-ROM product designed to inspire 3rd–5th grade children to love reading and writing. Children co-write their own book with award-winning actor and author, John Lithgow. They can then save a copy or upload the book to an online on-demand printing website, which will deliver a professionally printed and bound book.

Users step through the book chapter-by-chapter, answering questions that determine the plot and details of their story. After answering questions, users can review their work, make further changes, and customize images in the story. Along the way users receive helpful story writing tips from John Lithgow. After completing all chapters, students go to the product's publishing center, where they write their own biography, enter a dedication, create posters, save or print their book, and (optionally) send their book to a professional printer.

FableVision provided the stories, design, artwork, music, and programming for this product. We worked closely with Knowledge Adventure, from our initial FabLab to release. Books by You is currently sold at many retail stores and on Amazon.com.
