Calling all FLASH ARTISTS, DEVELOPERS and PRODUCERS!

FableVision wants you!

The family of FableVisionaries is growing fast, and we're always on the lookout for fresh talent. We are currently looking to build out our team, so if you're a Designer, Animator, Programmer, or Producer, read below at for our current job openings.

Also read about our internships for Art and Marketing.

DEVELOPERS

FableVision developers work closely with the artists, pulling together all the artwork, content, and audio to create the final product. We're always looking for individuals with multimedia (ActionScript), web, or game development experience. While a Computer Science degree is definitely appreciated, it is not a necessity. We're looking for programmers who are creative, clever, great in a team, and care about educational software.

We are currently looking for freelance developers for Flash (ActionScript 2 / ActionScript 3) as well as Website (HTML / CSS / PHP) projects. If you're interested, send an email to resume@fablevision.com, Attention: Brian Grossman, Technical Director.

FLASH ARTISTS

Whether you are an illustrator, animator, graphic designer, web designer, doodler, or sushi chef, if you're an artist at FableVision, the odds are you'll be working in Adobe Flash. We use Flash to animate, build websites, design games, make illustrations- practically everything! But by no means are we shrugging off traditional media. A lot of our employees are accomplished illustrators who put the pen to paper and love to paint. It's just that all of our projects are delivered digitally, so it makes sense to generate the content digitally. We generally expect a minimum of 2 years experience using Flash, so if you're not familiar with the software, we suggest you take some time to get acquainted with it before you apply for work with us. Expertise counts a lot, but if you have a passion for art, learning, and storytelling, keep at it.

Who do we mean when we say Flash Artists? If you use Flash to make your art, you're a Flash Artist.

If you're an animator, great! Send us your demo reel (preferably on DVD or via the Internet) and resume. Here we practice what we call Jazz animation. Like the musical genre that inspired it, Jazz animation gets the job done with a combo of artists playing individual roles to get the job done in a minimal, improvised way that inspires and impresses. Think of Disney as the classical approach, needing an entire studio (an orchestra) of artists to achieve the result. We have nothing against classical, we just tend to think simple is better. We sneak in the traditional approach whenever possible. And Flash is the perfect tool to get the job done.

If you're an illustrator, awesome! We'd love to see your portfolio, website, resume, blog-whatever you want to throw at us. Most of the artists at FableVision are illustrators, so we have a soft spot for you. And it's our belief that all illustrators can be trained for animation. As an illustrator, you're equipped with skills from the tradition of picture-making that have prepped you to be the perfect Jazz animator. You just need to learn how the tricks of getting your drawings to move. Again, experience in Flash is a must, but we assume you're probably just as familiar with Photoshop and Illustrator.

If you're a graphic designer or web designer, excellent! A portfolio, website, and resume still apply. In addition to knowing Flash, we would expect you to know print design programs like Photoshop, InDesign, Quark, Illustrator, and Dreamweaver for the web side of things.

If you think you're a little bit of all of the above, even better! Most of us at FableVision are proficient in all of the visual communication arts, as it takes a little bit of everything to get the job done. Send us everything you've got!
